Check out this 1977 Honda Goldwing

It's been a while since there's been a "new" bike in our driveway, but he found one he couldn't do without.

This is a 1977 Honda Goldwing.  This model is the last year built in Japan before they began producing them in Marysville,  Ohio.

Notice this model seems pretty bare bones,  but look at where the gas tank is normally found.  It looks normal until it's unlocked and it's like a transformer toy. The top pops up,  a secret compartment pulls out,  the sides fold down,  and there's the coolant bottle all hidden away and the kick starter,  which can be pulled out and put in place if you need it.

The real gas tank is hidden down below the seat.

It's pretty sneaky how it was designed and I imagine it was pretty cool to show off back in the day.

There's definitely work to be done,  the handlebars are upside down,  it's got an aftermarket exhaust,  but it started right up and stayed running.

What do you think? Would you ride it? Do you like it?

1965 Honda C200

Well here's the latest but not greatest find.  He's been working to get this one for a few weeks. It's not beautiful,  but it is different.  I like how skinny this bike is. It's too bad the frame is rusted through thanks to mice nesting. There are a lot of good parts that can be salvaged. It's a fun looking little bike.

This Weeks Bike is... Another Honda- 1966 Honda C200

Pictures forthcoming.  1965 Honda C200. Dropped off this evening. Pretty rusty and no title, but still has a lot of good parts.

Check back tomorrow to see it.

Vintage Buco Saddlebags-1963 Honda Dream

No new bikes this week!  Instead I am showing off the fantastic vintage Buco saddlebags on the Honda Dream.

The owner of this Dream spared no expense and made sure his bike was fully decked out. These bags are really cool and have pinstripes to match the bike.

They are pretty spacious and latch shut.  The lights are pretty cool too.

This Weeks New Bike (drum roll please) is the 1973 Hodaka Combat Wombat

So last week I posted that my husband had the Road Toad up for sale.  Yesterday he got a text from someone wanting to trade his running Combat Wombat for the Road Toad.  The trade was done in less than 3 hours and we never had to leave home.  The bike was brought here.  It needs some work (don't they all:-)?), but he's got that nice tank I won at auction for him and that's big!

So here's the coveted Hodaka Combat Wombat. I hope you enjoy it as much as he does.

Hodaka Road Toad

Here is a 1975 Hodaka Road Toad when my husband rolled it out of the back of his truck.

This bike doesn't hold a place in the garage or house and is stored in the barn with a good portion of his collection.

It's in pretty good condition.  He actually has it up for sale, but it's priced not to sell. He really doesn't want to sell it, but he would really, really like to have the Combat Wombat instead.

Hodaka Combat Wombat

This week my husband didn't buy another bike,  so I am sharing a picture of one of the many gas tanks my husband has collected.

This particular one was a consolation prize after I was outbid on buying the whole bike at an auction. I bid past past his max prize and had to stop. I did get the tank. They guy who beat me out on the bike tried to buy the tank off the me after the auction,  but I knew I needed to take it home.

If anyone has a Combat Wombat and you're willing to sell it, let me know so he can dry his eyes over the one he missed out on.

This Weeks Bike Buy - 1966 Honda C100

This one is a lot rougher than last week's buy, the 1963 Honda Dream.
Here we have a 1996 Honda C100, in much less than drivable condition.

This one was picked up about 20 minutes from home and it looked much better in the ad.  It's  pretty  junky.

Got "lucky" to be the first caller and was able you talk him down a little  bit.

If it wasn't for duct tape,  this thing would fall apart.  It came with a title though,  a good frame,  and quite a few needed parts,  which made it worthwhile.

1963 Honda Dream

Yesterday my husband Chris brought home another vintage bike. This is a 1963 Honda 300, fully complete and runs.
We currently have 4 motorcycles in the garage and 2 in our sunroom. There are several others in the barn.  Some run, but not all.

Here's another old Honda, a 1965 Honda S90.
He has it sitting on a shelf. I think we picked this one up from some guy who was selling the contents of his garage before moving.
The number plate and Hemet came from an estate auction. I tried to get him a Hodaka, but the price got way above my limits on this is what he got instead. They look good together.
